This course is designed for anyone who wishes to learn the sufficient knowledge and expertise to save and support life in the event of an accident or sudden illness, and fulfils the HSE requirements for first aid for appointed persons. The course focuses on the particular accidents and injuries that those who ride horses may encounter and looks at the particular problems you may face providing basic first aid in rural or remote locations.

Who is the course aim for?

It is suitable for stable hands, Outriders and Riding instructors (We do highly recommend that riding instructors partake in the full 3 day FAW course)

Do I need any first aid experience?

No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course. 

How long is the course valid for?

Certificates are valid for 3 years.

How long is the course?

The course lasts approximately 6 hours or 1 day.
