This one-day course in Emergency First Aid has been developed for those who are responsible for the supervision of children and babies. The aim of this course is to provide these persons with a sound knowledge and understanding of First Aid procedures when working with children and babies, along with the ability to recognise and treat many childhood conditions and illnesses. Although the majority of First Aid procedures are similar to those used in adult First Aid there are substantial differences in the protocols for resuscitation, choking, casualty handling and incident management. Subject to ongoing assessment and final exam, all delegates will receive a wallet sized card. The course is valid for a period of 3 years. Who should attend? This will be of particular interest to Child Minders and Crèche Assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone responsible for youth organisations. Who can attend? Anyone interested in learning emergency care specific to children and infants may take this course. There are no certification or licensure prerequisites and no minimum age limit.
