1 Day AED Instructor Course PDF Print E-mail

This course is for Instructors/Assessors who wish to deliver Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training to anyone who wishes to learn this vital lifesaving skill.

AED are now becoming more and more popular in public areas such as train stations, airports, shopping centres, supermarkets etc. It is very important therefore to have as many people in the country proficiently trained in the use this lifesaving and vital piece of equipment.

AED is well established as the only effective therapy for Cardiac Arrest due to Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) or pulse less Ventricular Tachycardia (VT). There has been a lot of research and study been done with regards to an AED and the results of which have been overwhelming.

It is the single most determinant of survival being the delay from collapse to the first shock. The chances of successful defibrillation however decline at a rate of 7-10% with each minute, so effective basic life support is also necessary to sustain a shock able rhythm.
