Oxygen is known to be of significant benefit to patient recovery particularly with regard to cardiac arrest, stroke, angina, serious trauma, bleeding, and near drowning. The supply of oxygen as part of the basic life support process is not difficult and training can easily be incorporated into a primary care training programme.
